falloff for modifiers
i would like to have an animatable falloff (in different shapes) for modifiers (like in cinema 4d) in 2.8 (example: displacing only parts of geometry and animate it via falloff-moving)

this? youtube.com/watch
@alberto3d.1984: ..similiar but not this complicated with vertex-weights+two modifiers... just every modifier/deformer with an adjustable fall-off-function. ( youtube.com/watch )
@4be.a: The actual system is more powerfull, and really simple to use.
I don't see why to change all modifiers only because somebody doesn't want to add a modifier.
@alberto3d.1984: ..recommending to check out a trial of cinema 4d + experience how comfortable+ advanced a 3d-software can be. to get s.th . up to a higher level there are changes to make...(just try out if this method in blender is really more powerful+ simple than in c4d)!
@4be.a: I never had used cinema 4D, is a good idea try it now that I have free time.
It'd be better to have it conrolled by an empty i think
I like the way animation nodes handles Falloff. I hope this will be part of interactive mode and everything nodes :) regarding the modifier stack i think the base is already there with dynamic paint. MAybe something like this could be made with a simple button next to vertex group that automaticly sets up dynamic paint.
How would this be controlled in Blender? It's insufficient to say, "Do it like this other software." How would you want to see this work for Blender users, in the Blender interface? Detailed mock-ups would be very helpful.
