Add island style selection to 3d view
In uv editor you have 4 types of selection modes. Vertice, edge, face and island. The island selects a continuous island in uv view and a similar selection mode would be useful in 3d view as well. So when you click a mesh in edit mode in island selection mode then it would automatically select the whole mesh with its connected verts.

Select face, Ctrl+L -> Seam Also Shift+G There are a lot of selections in blender. Learn em please.
* @ Vyacheslav * I know ctrl-l. I don't want to have to use it constantly just like I don't want to use it in uv editor either where for some reason I don't need to. Uv editor has island selection mode and island selection mode would be useful in edit mode as well.
* @ Vyacheslav * I'd wish this site had ignore feature so I could just avoid your condescending shit.
* @o7216059 * this «feature» is for wrong pipeline. If you want to work with separate meshes independently — split em to objects. Then join again. Nothing bad will happens.
If you want just move parts, use proportional edit connected. It works: {attachment 2019-03-12_18-44-11mp4}
Actually, just the L key works for direct selection. One button. CTRL-L is for extending the selection to linked faces (you have to have one selected first).
You can set it to delimit along UV's if you don't have seams.
* @Josephbburg * I don`t use L much, so i forgot about it. Thanks. But yes, one button is not difficuilt way and the method i shown in the video is not arequire any buttons, just tuning once.
