Material Management System
Please can we have a proper material management system for Blender with drag and drop functionality like in Cinema 4D for example. At the moment, if I want to delete materials from Blender I have to go through so many drop-down menus and it becomes very long-winded.
If there is a way to fix this please

Agreed. I feel like the existing Asset Browser would be a great jumping off point for this kind of feature. The way Blender handles materials with Fake Users is unintuitive to me, and I often find myself with dozens of materials that have been mistakenly duplicated. But at the same time i have lost hours of work by unlinking a material and forgetting to create a Fake User. Iād love a centralized place to view all the materials in my file.
To me, this is a v1.0 feature that somehow fell by the wayside for 25 years. There is no place to simply see the materials in your project, with thumbnails, and add/delete/edit them in a place that's not associated with any particular object.
I should not need to know C4D to understand a proposal. I agree that material system is in dire need of a UI rework, but proposing "do it like C4D" is not enough.
