Origin to vertex in edit mode
I think it would be verry cool if a developer could add a command origin to active vertex (white dot) for edit mode.
I would like to keep my cursor at specific places, not having it to swap positions for only doing origin tricks with objects. i rather keep it on special positions ea centers of axis or a specific surface position from which other objects should be relatively placed. I am making machine parts (tobe 3d printed) and in complexer designs i find myself having to switch a lot between object mode / edit mode setting an origin and restoring the cursor back to its original place.
I dont think this would be very complex but it might ease the work for a lot of designers.

Origin should be editable in edit mode!
try alt+ctrl+X{attachment blender_24tHQVODC2png}
* @etufo2 * Thanks a lot! instead i dont have such hotkey (2.81) i founded "set origin to selection" in edit mode with f3 search bar but... it says (object: set origin to selected).. so anyway it need rework cause i ,technically, cant get object menu while im in subobjects mode)) but anyway thank you
* @etufo2 * Origin Pie is from build-in 3d Viewport Pie addon
* @impacman * Yeah, someone missed putting it in the UI menus. You can access it via the Pie Menu addon, I'm not sure what's on by default.
* @Pawel Piotrowski * Yes, I know, but you can't access set origin to selected from the menus. To my knowledge, you can access everything else that are in the pie menus from the normal menus.
* @etufo2 * You can.
Its accessible from editmode, yea, onder the hood it is modifying it in object mode (it is exiting editmode, modifying origin and entering back) but for light objects its not noticeable.
* @Pawel Piotrowski * that's a pie menu. I meant drop down menus or right-click menus. Not everyone will want or have pie menus enabled.
* @etufo2 * another reason then for some short cut, is that it should also work without pie menu.
* @peter.boos * the way it's setup at the moment is as @Pawel Piotrowski explained it, where things are running under the hood. It's basically a macro operation. I think you would need to edit the addon script itself to create a custom shortcut. So, if not a full command, then a way to add shortcuts to pie menu commands would be ideal.
* @peter.boos * * @etufo2 * Here You have
pastebin.com/ACBfTQHS
they are operators and can be set up to hotkey
* @Pawel Piotrowski * wow, thanks for that!
* @Pawel Piotrowski * can it be done that the object doesnt move after altering origin (ea tak in account the origin displacement to alter position)
* @peter.boos * You mean to move mesh, but not origin?
Also this is one less action, it doesn't really make sense to have to move 3D cursor to selection and then move origin to 3D cursor when you could do it in one go. I've always thought Blender needed this too.
