Speed up Subdivision

If the Subdivision modifier is applied to an animated mesh (shape or bones) the playback is incredibly slow. In 2.79 it was dozens of times faster and in Maya even better.

In the two videos you can see a comparative test between Blender and Maya. Sphere 200 x 200, shape animation. Blender 2.82.7 subdivision level 1, frame rate 3 fps. Maya subdivision level 2 (1.276.800 tris), frame rate 160 fps. Blender 2.79 subdivision level 2 (1.276.800 tris), frame rate 59 fps. youtu.be/csYeyNDWyxE youtu.be/hiX8bCpOwzE

this is a known issue and already in development, which has been mentioned at length on devtalk, blender today, and RCS. what do you hope to achieve by whining about it on RCS, think it will get done sooner if you do?

From the research and discussions I have been doing for about a year it seems that the problem is of low priority and has not been understood. Could you send me the link where the developers declare they want to solve this problem? Thank you!
