Redo the Import
it makes difficult when we are working on a big projects & we have to import so many different types of file. It's annoying to select the format then import it.
So it would be better if we have one single import button and we will be able to import any file type Blender supports.

It's a good start. I would recommend that we kill import and export, and instead when you go to open, you may also import any compatible format, and when you go to save, you can also export.
IN addition, I recommend that you can also drag any of those importable formats like you can a blend file, and it will just assume you want to import them.
I'm thinking of making my own ticket for it if nobody else gets to it first....
* @simon.p.heggie * thats a great idea. Hope it will marge in 2.9 release.
or drag and drop and open pop up window with options
It would be faster if the program chose the file type based on the file extension, so you don't have to select the file type to import. You could just click import and the computer recognizes the extension.
There is just one problem:
The import-export addons. This change would mean that every single import-export addon had to be rewritten.
* @Blender Defender * don't think so. For me it seems like it only needs to check file's type and then just use correspondenting addon
* @impacman * IMPORT uses different functions
Absolutely agree. It's ridiculous how often I click to import an FBX file only to realize my model is an OBJ.
yeah this import export or save all of need to change so that we will be able to work more faster.
