UI consistency: roll-over behavior

When you rollover the SCENE dropdown, it (imo, aggravatingly) opens up the Scene list. This also occurs in the giant UI-blocking BRUSH dialog.

Personally I hate this: it's like a nasty little bear-trap . But what really aggravates me is that the same thing doesn't happen over the "NEW SCENE" dropdown, where it might actually be handy. This is Yet Another Blender Inconsistency (YABI). Two dropdowns, side by side, that behave differently. Genius.

And while someone will probably come up with some lame excuse as to why this is a good idea, they are wrong . It's INCONSISTENT, and that's one thing Blender could use a lot less of.

One or the other, please. But not both, randomly assigned by developer whim.

Active mouse over Option with scrolling with holded cntrl key brings problems when controlling values specially in 3d view menü options or modifers options ..often it comes jumps and you land in different proberties or you scroll to other positions in modfiers ...it feels inacurate and wrong...

Hear hear. We gotta have those inconsistencies eliminated

Uh... what's a roll-over?

* @Stanislav Blinov * , when the mouse passes over a UI element, and the element is triggered.

Most obnoxiously, the brush presets. Not only do they trigger AND NOT GO AWAY, you are forced to click somewhere to get their huge ass dialog out of the way.

Hopefully I've simply missed the option buried in the preferences somewhere.

* @jeric_synergy * User Preferences -> Interface -> Menus -> Open on Mouse Over. Not sure how you could've "missed" it since that's disabled by default :D

* @Stanislav Blinov * //clickaclickaclicka// So, why doesn't it do it over the NEW SCENE button?

Someone's probably going to say "It's not a menu", but I disagree: it functions exactly like a menu, so it's a menu despite what some coder pharisee thinks.

(I'm not even going to mention the "Kill a scene with no alert" button.)

* @jeric_synergy * Well, yes, it's not a menu :) If I had to guess, that the buttons-that-show-options don't auto-open is probably an oversight.
