How to become moderator on RCS/Blender Community?
How does one go about becoming a moderator on Right Click Select? Not sure if this should be in an RCS post, but I am interested in helping out if I can.

Hi * @Josephbburg *. At this point, the only one performing moderation duties on RCS is me. I believe Dillo (this backend for this site) gives the ability to define moderator status for some users... or that feature is currently under development. I'll investigate and find out, because regardless as this site grows, it would certainly help to have more eyes on posts.
Generally speaking, I have a certain amount of wariness for people who specifically ask to be moderators. Too often in the past (on other sites that I've moderated), these have been people who were more interested in wielding power than helping the site be positive and friendly. That said, I've been paying attention to your posts and I certainly don't get that vibe from you.
Of course... with the addition of moderators, it would also be useful if there were a means of having moderator discussions that don't distract from the main point of the site. I wonder if it makes more sense to have a "hidden" tag, accessible only by moderators... or if that's just better served with another communication channel, like an email list.
* @Jason van Gumster * Thanks for the reply! I think the test is: how many times can a person say "search first" before getting annoyed and being uncilvil. Haha! At any rate, I don't need a special status to leave a comment on duplicates.
* @Josephbburg * That alone is a huge help. I currently go through each post, looking for that (by you and other commenters) and changing the status to Duplicate when I see them.
In an ideal world, this wouldn't need moderator action. It would just take a few users to flag the post as a duplicate with the same link and that would be enough to automatically change the status (kind of how some bug report software and StackExchange work) .
