size preview of the imported object
In the import window, it would be useful to see a "xyz" size of the bounding box of the object to import before importing.
Maybe it could be next to the scale factor and could change dynamically when changing the scaling factor.

To know bounding box of everything in file You would have to import it before importing (i doubt that most file format contain aabb of content in metadata).
So that would have to be done in some post procesing, but untill there will by some kind of importing system each importer would have to implement it itself.
