Light angle based iridescence

I've been trying to replicate a certain type of paint material for a while now where the colour shifts based on the light angle instead of a Fresnel-like effect or view angle. I asked in forums but it seems this effect is not possible to be done through Cycles. Maybe if a "Light Direction" branch could be added to the "Layer Weight" node?

What can be done currently:

You can achieve that by dot producting the position of the light and the geometry normal. drive.google.com/drive/folders/1w9jqypBA31UFjgtWcZW5SbjPjGhnbfzA

In my case I use HDRI. I don't think it can be connected with an HDRI or at least I don't know how. With a "Sun Light" it works even though the effect is a bit difficult to control. I guess I can roughly align the HDRI and set the "Sun" to low brightness and kind of "fake" the effect. Or maybe using a point light instead of a "Sun" would be easier to align. Thanks for replying and helping out. I appreciate it.

you can also use an empty object instead of a light

would be great to have this even with multiple lights and the hdri based lighting
