Cohesive, Universal Multi-Editing of Object Parameters

Using game engines and other 3D software I've grown accustomed to easily and effortlessly changing parameters of multiple objects. Blender feels like an outlier in this field where not only do you have to use a hotkey (holding alt, often unknown to users) to edit parameters across selected objects it doesn't work with the majority of an object's available parameters (modifiers, materials properties, particle settings, physics settings, constraints). The only way you can get close to this now is if you set up links where swaths of parameters are locked together and continuously apply.

I believe there needs to be a concerted effort to unify and enable multi-editing of most if not all parameters. Basically, if multiple selected objects have the same editable parameters (whether it be materials, modifiers, or physics properties) you can edit and apply changes across all.

* @testure * Thanks for the link, looks like a really good start and features some ideas I really approve of Although it's not encouraging is that it's crawling close to 2 years since it was proposed

* @proceo * an unfortunate reality for FOSS, the number of full time paid devs is limited so they work on higher priority tasks. On the plus side, as Blender gains popularity it attracts more devs interested in volunteering, etc.

* @proceo * I've been nagging the devs about this for many many months now and I've also created this very proposal already. As testure said - they don't have the devs willing to tackle it right now. I don't know why, either.

It's a feature that should have much higher priority IMO, as well. It's like the outliner - where it took waaay too long to get to a near parity to other software. And it was so necessary.

So yeah - there are many who feel your pain. ;)

I guess since William Reynish left the Blender Team this has come to a halt. It's also duplicate of this proposal which is even one year older: blender.community/c/rightclickselect/qfcbbc/

Better to vote on one with many upvotes to show the amount of interest than to split it in smaller ones. Maybe we get it to be recognised as important enough again?
