Proposal: Location of "Operator search"
There is a lot of controversy around the spacebar but if the answer´ll bee an icon in the toolbar?
Proposal 1: <img src=' i.postimg.cc/HsMjn04P/spacebar-icon-toolbar.jpg' border='0' alt='spacebar-icon-toolbar'/>
- icon alternative
<img src=' i.postimg.cc/dVwCyCTq/icon-search-proposal.jpg' border='0' alt='icon-search-proposal'/>
Proposal 2:
On Top Bar
<img src='

border='0' alt='proposal-2-seach'/>

Doesn't make sense to place it there since the toolbar is for active tools, not for immediate commands, which Search is. I agree it should be a more accessible button
There are more appropriate places to put search button, I think:
@postolka: yes, on top like photoshop or other place that can not represent or confuse to a local tool per window, but in top right the people could close blender for error and in bottom i consider is far to action. Other place to put the icon is on left, next to scene and viewlayer

On the toolbar, such an icon makes it look more like it's a tool for zooming the view.
@Jason van Gumster: yes, i thinking in that but zoom icon is in navigate gizmo and the icon is different (with a cross)
Especially not in the toolbar! Search menu is not exclusive to the 3D viewport, it should be in a place always visible no matter the editors.
It seems an interesting idea for 2 reasons:
In this case in windows (tablet mode) when you click on a text input in any app the touch keyboard appears, but in Blender it does not. You can also start the touch keyboard manually, as seen.
I like too ! Maybe add a question mark over the proposed icon ?
I like. Just the Icon that needs to be thought about. However the concept is fantastic. Maybe it could be a dog sniffing the ground?
i like it!!
