Edit Mode - Left/Right keypress - orbit

The Left and Right keys are used to switch frames (forward or backward).

I believe this is useless in edit mode (like moving a frame in edit mode doesn't accomplish anything related to what's on screen), and thought it would be good to have some "orbit" functionality built-in for edit mode to be able to fly around your object real quick and check it out without having to switch modes and have some orbit setup. Just all built-in, left/right keypress allow you to view the object from a different viewpoint easily by orbiting the edit mode camera around the object being edited.

What is really needed is an option to not have the left and right keys globally bound to frame switching. For someone like me who almost never animates anything I'd love to be able to set left and right to do a variety of other things per-editor .

numpad 4 and 6 already do this.

Besides, you would be surprised to know that, yes, changing frame in edit mode is not useless at all. You may not need it, but any work related to dynamics, rigging or animation can use that, just to name a few.

How does the existing functionality for focusing on an object to orbit around it lacking usability for you?
