File save as
In 2.80 you could inrement an existing file name and save a copy. The "increment" icon is no longer there in 2.81. The increment shortcut "numpad +" still works, but there is no hint of this for the uninitiated user.

The feature is still there of course. Available either via the shortcuts (Numpad + and -) or via the context menu.
Plan is to bring the icons back in a slightly different way:

richard is right!!! +1
when I discover this I was like: really??? nooo but seriously sometimes removing so important options because so useful and imposing some others by default. I'm wondering where it's going one step forward one step backward, it can be long...especially watching the late in some domains. like ... so many things this is a good deal for paying addons. some are just doing big money there
true, they removed it :(
* @pipeliner * this can be marked as "in development", right?
developer.blender.org/rB1601413b6 is this being talked about? Looks like this was done.
It is essential and such an important feature in Blender...
yeah it's a pain, luckily it's still works the same in pie menu.
noise +1
I could see it coming back, most likely they forgot to add it back or didn't think highly of that option when they redesigned the new simplified file system.
These are the meeting notes for the latest Blender 2.81 alpha builds link
File Browser redesign (details link)
The change is in this file "release/scripts/startup/bl_ui/ space_filebrowser.py "
The devs mention in the notes that the features they removed could be added back if they feel like enough users want/use it. So make some noise.
