snap line guides

snap guides, some drawing programs have vertical and horizontal snapping guides, that snap to object centers or outlines, while new to be drawn objects can snap to them, on side or object center

I imagine when in orto mode, one would create such a line if the view mode was entered with mouse click over top side of the view bar (drag), and for the right or left side.

Since blender has not such a concept yet, i can also imgani more advanced snap line function ea rotate snap line x degrees or. Also it would be an easy way to put thing on the ground. (handy for 3d printing)

ManBlender

It's funny.. coz when I want guide lines, then moving view port to left/right edge of screen or adding new viewport area ;))

absolutely!!! as great as blender is, it lacks some important fundamental things. probably not as fancy as the great new tools but I always need to go back to c4d to do certain things efficiently as blender can't do certain tasks.

Why not do like in CAD applications? Create a temporary edge for construction and snap to that. That's at least already possible now.

* @Jason van Gumster * that is possible, but its a lot of extra steps if your a production drawer it becomes quite a dull repetetive task each time you need it.
