We need USD, Hydra viewport implentation

We need USD, Hydra viewport implentation. Blender currently can't handle large city scenes with a lot of objects.

You need to tell a lot more than just "we need this". The first thing would be to explain what is this, and how this would be implemented in blender.

And how it would be beneficial for the typical Blender user. Companies like Disney have access to resources your average joe (and even small studio) does not, so does it make sense on a laptop, desktop machine or small network, despite the streaming from a laptop example - that didn't have textures, lighting, sound or effects.

If it does prove beneficial, it would be awesome and I think they would consider adding it, but all we're saying is that if there is no clear argument for it made, why should they - Blender is already comparable to a ship with many parts that work together. If there are no good reasons given, there is no reason for them to put in the effort to add it and maintain it for many years to come.

Take a look at this on how to write a proposal: wikihow.com/Write-a-Proposal

It helped me tremendously and will help you too. :)

There is two ways of implementing USD :

  • simple import export support (what is being made)
  • the real one : base the software core on USD Hydra and thus, make the viewport and renderer some delegates (USDfied cycle and opengl) piece of software attached to it, allowing all the benefits of the tech : Speed and versatility.

So far this post is the only one mentioning Hydra implementation, So those saying it's double proposal, it's not.

Please, try to do a search before posting a proposal, there has already been a proposal for the implementation of the usd blender.community/c/rightclickselect/QQbbbc/

you're just doing a duplicate that does not add anything to that ;)

Also i remember it was a discussed and, for reasons, dismissed solution.
