Gradient color effect

The VSE allows you to create simple blocks of color that can be shaped using the Mask tool. But there is no way to add a simple gradient to the color. You need to stack multiple masks and color effects to achieve that.

It would be very useful to apply textures to the color effect, that would include blend type textures. At a minimum we could at least allow the choice of 2 colors with a blend direction.
