Select overlapping vertexes by determining which is nearest to the mouse cursor. (post 2)

Hello guys. I would like to request a feature that would make selecting vertexes that are overlapping easier. I believe the current workflow around it is little bit tedious and often takes a lot of steps to achieve.

1.) These feature is useful when cutting two objects and you want to preserve the integrity of the vertex that is not part of the transformation.

2.) The target vertex is in the green cirlcle while the vertex that is in yellow is not part of the transformation.

3.) What happens currently is that you don't have an easy control to which vertex will be selected. In the sample below the green vertex is not selected and the yellow vertex is selected instead which is not part of the intended selection.

4.) One solution I could think of is for the program to determine the target selection by analyzing which is the closer element to the mouse cursor.

Ex: if the mouse cursor is leaning/hovered more on the left side then the overlapping vertex that is also leaned more towards the left side will be selected. \

With this function It would now be easier to do these types of modelling manually.

Thanks.
