Cryptomatte info/ output node...
I use render farms for most of my renderings to get them fast. I use Cryptomatte as well. The problem is, Renderstreet can not stitch together .EXR files, so images can only be rendered on one machine instead of many machines. The .EXR file stores the Cryptomatte info.
What would be great, is if we could tell blender to only render the Cryptomatte info and have it stored in a Cryptomatte output/ info node. This way I can render in PNG, TIFF or whatever format on the render farm, load my image into the compositor then access the Crypto out put info node I generated on my end.
The node would be what is outlined in red only...

Is it not possible to add the cryptomatte outputs into a multilayer EXR file? I do it here on my local workstation all the day and it works great in compositions.
* @Christoph Werner * You are missing my point....Yes...But you can not render Multi-Layer EXRs on renderfarms using more than one machine, using Renderstreet anyway. That is my issue.
* @Aaron Smithey * If the node outputs I have in red could be their own node with all of the pick info embedded into at render time...Then I could render JPEGs or whatever and still be able to do the compositing without having to render the EXRs. I just don't know how you would get the node though..What I have been doing is just render a low sample EXR locally to get the masks I need from it...and composite using a separate TIFF or whatever file I choose for the composite that I rendered on the renderfarm.
