Grease Pencil occluded backside strokes

This is a very rough idea stage request and I don't know how to actually implement it, but I'd be interested in finding out how others feel about it and what ideas they have.

Can I become Scott Robertson with the help of Grease Pencil? youtube.com/watch Can I draw and design in perfect perspective and use other functions of blender on the fly to take my work to the next level?

Grease Pencil is almost there in terms of drawing and designing in 3d. There are options to lock the axes and set where the strokes are being created and while some of these can be streamlined by the user to make it a more intuitive experience for their particular cases, there's one major limitation. The inability for blender to tell which lines are in front and which are in the back of the object that I'm drawing.

It would be really great if Grease Pencil strokes that are farther away from the viewpoint, would be hidden to some degree. Maybe it could be possible by taking into account the rough volume of the grease pencil object itself and based on the volume, the lines that are farther from the camera would be more transparent.

However, ideally there could also be some normal information to the Grease Pencil strokes, although I am not sure how and at what point this could be assigned. The normals direction information could be useful in determining which lines to display and which ones to hide, similar to some NPR line renders etc.
