Replace hotkeys with search filter in modifiers.
Some of the most frequently used modifiers do not have hotkeys (Subdivision Surface, Mirror, Boollean). Therefore, most users can't use hotkeys for modifiers and they spend time selecting the desired element.
I suggest replace hotkeys with search filter:

Here's a patch with a
shift-Asearch: developer.blender.org/D8927I really like your idea of typing automatically adding a search to the top of a large enum menu though, it's very elegant. But it's a much larger change.

I am suggesting a dedicated key for adding modifiers or a pie menu for commonly used.
Would be good in case of implementing search feature.
