Object "Polygroups" Separate but Unite Groups

I don't know if it is possible or not already but The idea is to have a function where

  • you can select some polygons and give them a polygrup and being able to hide them or show them in the animations how you wish and when you wish , without having the polygons detach themselves and giving issues

  • ( the normal way i would do it is just separate the model in more different pieces and turning the pieces on and off ,but that doesn't work well because the polygons being detached are really bad)

  • this would work amazing expecially to hide pieces of a model momentarely in an animation for example when some object is on top of that piece clipping , insthead of perma deleting polygons , just having them hide momentarely is perfect!

-ps in other softwares i use this kind of function for sculpting , where i hide unreacheable pieces by masking , expanding the mask , and then hiding the masked parts so i don't affect them

but for animation it would be even better than for sculpting

How does this differ from using the Mask modifier ?

@Jason van Gumster: intersting, this would be actually really good, but in blender probably the best implementation would be "Face Groups" that its something we don't have. (just for recap)Using mask modifier uses vertex grups to hide X fases if a face has X amount of vertex weight in it, the face will be hidden. The problem with that is that doing simple things works nice until the groups need to be inverted or modified to affect Y faces, there the vertex groups start to fail miserably limiting a lot the functionality.
Ill try to set up some examples later.

@L. Nahuel Belich: thank you a lot Nahuel :)

@porkeehunporki6669999: for the time being, mask modifier should work fine to do simple things like hide mesh in production standar models , an upgrade be nice (yes need to prepare some examples pics) but at the moment work for that.
