Bake Node tree Volume Output into an OpenVDB file/sequence
Sometimes you have quite complicated node setups that you want to optimize for rendering on an AMD GPU using OpenCL(which is as you know it, terrible with procedurals in Cycles because of kernel compilation and loading everytime you change a node tree).
In the example image I attach something rendered on CPU and I am unable to render it on a GPU because it freezes first my blender, then it somehow manages to exceed my 32GB of RAM, and freezes my entire PC for a while, and finally it just either crashes blender or my GPU driver, while rendering on CPU is nearly realtime and takes 10MB at peak.
I'm not asking for a better AMD support, I know it's going to take years before it comes, just give me the ability to prebake my volume into an OpenVDB file so that I can at least be able to render stuff like this using my GPU which is 2x faster than my CPU.
It could also be useful for huge and complicated shader setups to optimize for render time or just creating some interesting effect presets/stylized clouds
Thank you!
