Show the render engine somewhere in the interface or status bar

I want to suggest to add somewhere in the viewport a text telling whar engine is blender using at the moment (eevee or cycles). My suggestion would be to add a text either in the 3D viewport in some corner saying: "Eevee engine" or "Cycles engine" depending on which is set, or to add this text in the status bar at the center.

in the status bar with the other relevant information, should say "layer x" > "render engine: y"

I have created another solution from python without having to compile blender, but each user will have to run the code or activate an addon if it is done in addon format, it would be very easy to adapt it to addon but ideally this included in the official addon blender... pastebin.com/GpLkSuyC

Yes, good idea.

I think the idea is great, so when we see tutorials we can easily find out which engine you are using for the tutorial without having to search where in the video you change it, assuming it comes out in the reflected video.
