Streamline Animation
Why Flash animation became so popular... It was very intuitive for navigation. It was super simple and easy to use.
Example: What is called in Flash a "Movie Clip" is pretty much an NLA strip. To edit the movie clip you just had to double click on it, the timeline changed to the clip's animation timeline, simple as can be.
2 changes to make animation and editing similar to Flash in Blender.
- All in one timeline:
Integrate NLA strips with raw animation in the main timeline. 2) Editing an NLA strip by double clicking on it: The main timeline becomes the NLA's timeline so you can edit its content. After, you press an exit button it returns you to the main timeline.
There is a bit more to it than that but basically that is the crux of its appeal and simplicity and I so wish it to have a similar behavior in Blender.

I don't really understand (1). What is "raw animation" and what is the "main timeline" (the graph editor, dopesheet and timeline editor all have timelines). You can already edit "raw animations" (tweaked actions or the topmost action track) too.
I also don't understand (2). Changing from tab to double click doesn't seem significant? I agree that there should be an explicit button to exit tweak mode instead of exiting on click.
* @GuiltyGhost * Why can't there be everything all in 1? Timeline, Dope sheet, NLA. All in the same editor type Timeline. If you want to edit the NLA then you double click on it and the timeline editor is now the NLA's timeline.
