Change default render location - linux
Did a render overnight, and noticed only last 2 png files there.
Certainly not any major issue, but likely very confusing to users that don't understand that the OS is cleaning up /tmp regularly.
How about rendering to a subdirectory of the project as default, or forcing user to choose .

You can set the default anywhere you would like from Preferences.
Furthermore, although you described the problem, you didn't actually propose any solution. Specifically where else would you put the default render location on Linux?
Can you provide a little more information as to why there was only 2 images in the directory? Did linux delete the rest, or were the others simply not rendered?
* @Zach Hixson * What he wrote somehow implicates that the files got deleted by the system because they was in the /tmp folder and older than the limit set for the tmp clean-up job. (sorry if the term isn't exactly how Linux admins would call it but it basically describes what it is)
* @Zach Hixson * - yeah, exactly - OS must have been deleting any unlocked files in /tmp occasionally
* @JeffG * Ok so yeah, if Linux clears out the /tmp directory, than I agree default renders should go somewhere else by default.
In the meantime though, you really should never render to the default location anyways
* @Zach Hixson * - Indeed, and it's definitely a minor thing. But, I can certainly see some getting confused.
