Upgrading The Anim Player.
When Animating we use playblasting alot so It would be nice to to upgrade Blender's internal anim player to have more features, like playback options,Annotation tool..... so it can be like an editor but only internally not in the editors list.
-
The Sidebars can be hidden same as the playback options to have the previous clean window.
-
An option or a hotkey to flip Horizontally & Vertically.
-
Volume Control for Audio.
-
Increase or Decrease Playback speed.
There is a small inconvenience when you do a viewport/Render animation, the preview happens on the image editor so you have to close it and open "the anim player" each time, It would be nice if the previewing is done on the Anim player" itself. But if it's not technically possible because of users choosing an external one, then i suggest maybe after the previewing is done then kill the image editor and automatically open the anim player(any other solution is welcomed).

There is a fun hack, nobody talks about. You can create an empty scene for video editing and link an animated scene. It can cache a viewport animation and gives you all the possibilities you've mentioned. But it doesn't work with "Pre-fetch" option - simply crashes. And since the cache is stored you gotta manually recache the strip to get an animation update ... But anyway - I think - thats a good starting point for developing an addon which can render that cache fast and add to video sequenser, so it would be a separated from file plbst. In that way you can even have multiple playblasts to compare. {attachment blender_5VA1XDoDgCpng}
