Split and join window areas has bad UX

I'm not saying that 2.7 was OK, but now in 2.8 splitting and joining window areas is even less intuitive, the split area is super tiny, the corner split spots are gone or at least there's no visual indicator. I've seen artists struggle with this and I do so myself. Is there any plan for improving this?

Marked this as done since the bug with screen DPI scaling has been fixed and now the active area is not super tiny anymore

This site is for proposing solutions and ideas. How would you suggest improving this feature?

If possible, do not use it, it is a bad practice before 2.8. You have to use the tabs, for example the TAB key should go to modeling workspace and continue with the Layout view.

When you right-click a border there's a 'split area' and 'join area' command. This probably replaces the corners that were just as nondescript, as well. You have to know either of these things. Maybe a small dot in the corner of the UI that mirrors the same options ("split horizontally/vertically" and "join") could help users.

And sometimes it overlaps actual widgets. But without any visual intel about it.

Now, this site is about features proposals, not questions. If you have an idea on how to improte, let's get to it. Otherwise, others websites might be a better place, like devtalk.blender.org .
