IES lighting profiles
I think it's about time that blender should come with build-in IES lighting profiles support.
As an Architectural visualizer it would be a HUGE addition to my workflow. And my guess is that I'm not the only one waiting for this.

Yes ! i always only use only one because i'm not too patient to import and test the other, with build in IES it would be fast & more practical
This would indeed be nice! It would hugely improve the professionalism for architecture. Maybe they shouldn't be in there (or activated) by default. But it would be nice to be able to turn them on.
IMHO, like presets for cameras based on real life cameras, IES lights seems to be presets of real life lights. In this case, the implementation could be an adaptation of what we have for cameras. No ?
@pcsd24: Ooops ! I was checking Blender 2.80 for camera presets, to remember how it was working, and it has disappeared ! So we now have to define that manually... Why was tha removed ?
IES support is coming to blender 2.8! See link: youtube.com/watch
Where in Blender's interface would these profiles be accessed? Would this be a node input for emission shaders? Or are you thinking that they would be set from Lamp Properties in the Properties Editor?
@Jason van Gumster: in the TAB when you have sun light, area light ect, you'll have IES Light
@razin1993: So it's not just a light profile, it's an entirely new light object? How will users know in the 3D view that they're using an IES light instead of a spot or area light? Also, I'm assuming that there are still different profiles that you can assign to a specific IES light. Would this be done with a drop-down or are there more slider-like controls?
I know I'm speaking a bit from ignorance here, but for a proposal to be actionable, it's really best to describe the entirety of the feature... what it does as well as how it will look in Blender's interface.
