Calculating edge length / Feature suggestion

Hopefully this is in the right place for this. (See picture) Just a feature that I thought would be useful when measuring for example an outer diameter of a curved car body etc. Also, suggestions on how to do this in some existing way are welcome, I just couldn't find anything online. So basically a text box that shows the total length of selected edges (could also be applied to angles).
