Proposal for "new" kinds of mirroring mode
So even though this may be a duplicate idea already,I just want to bring this up again. The fact that we still don't have any kind of radial symmetry in a quick and easy way for normal modelling (except sculpt mode) makes me a bit annoyed. Sure, we can use the array method but that can be pretty convoluted.
For example, in 3dcoat, one can simply choose to use the normal mirror method that Blender uses, or radial mirroring and radial symmetry method via a dropdown menu without having to set up other modifiers to do so. Which would be the case for Blender. I feel like it would be interesting to see the mirror modifier built on in BLender, allowing for radial symmetry or radial mirroring within the mirror modifier. The array method has its own limitations though, you can't snap the vertices to each other. For example, you're modelling a slice of an object, but the edges don't match up perfectly. Using the "merge first to last object" solves only half the problem since you're limited to the merge factor. Sometimes adjusting it may not get the result you want, and therefore, would rather adjust the edge vertices yourself. Since there might be some overlapping depending on the number of objects chosen for the array.
