Video editor, rendered output.

Video editor, rendered output.

Although some people want to do all the video editing work in Blender and are still adding a lot of new features, I don't think the most fundamental problem has been solved.

1.An animation project has many sets, it is difficult to manage a bunch of Blender files, or to edit many sets in one file and output them in batches quickly, and no free video editing software has this feature.

Make many episodes of video, I prefer davinci resolve, because you can put many episodes on a timeline, each set output to a different file (episode 1 .mp4, episode 2. MP4, episode 3. MP4).

2.Audio processing, in all the audio processing software, I think there are only two practical functions, izotope RX can eliminate a lot of noise, fabfiter can accurately and visually adjust audio dynamics, balance, reverberation and so on.

Blender does not have the same visual audio interface as fabfiter and no waveform editor like izotope RX, that is to say, Blender can not finely process audio.

3.adobe premiere can select a fragment to create an AE file. Davinci resolve can select a clip and switch to the fusion node editor.

Can Blender select a clip and create a VFX scene? Maybe this function can be done with the python plug-in, but I am not familiar with how to write plug-ins for video editors, and there are too few examples on the Internet.

I think we should let Blender better output to other video editing software, such as Blender video editor can put a lot of clips, I think these clips to different files, and export a XML file is the best way. Then use davinci resolve to open the XML, you can re-color the clip edited by Blender, and use fabfiter to process the audio, which will feel more comfortable.

At present, I think the editing function of Blender is enough for making a short film, but the audio function is really not enough. I have to rely on other software to achieve better sound processing. If we have the ability to make functions and UI like Fabfiter, it would be better to put them all in Blender.
