Make it so the modifier stack updates no longer affects your viewport fps

So currently when the modifier stack updates, Blender freezes/waits for it to finish before pushing another frame causing the screen to freeze.

99% of the time you dont notice this because it just happens really damn fast, but when using more complex/longer modifier stacks you will eventually start noticing lag from it.

(This gets especially annoying with the new "Exact" mode for the new Boolean modifier in 2.91)

Vyach

Even if screen will not bee freezed, it is still very intensive calculation, and responce will be low. Also screen rotation will make calculations longer, due to taking part of cpu-time.

BUT screen should not just hang. There should be indicator like «calculating boolean» or «making your awesome voxels». This will not scare newbies so much as hanging Blender.

Then maybe have some little icon appear in the bottom right of the screen when the modifiers are taking longer than half a second or so to update, so you know when they are still computing
