Problem:
All the sliders and tool manipulators behave in a binary way. To click or not to click, that is the question, there are no inbetween states. Our current input devices (especially tablets) offer a bit more freedom, but we don't take their advantages for most of the UI/UX stuff. I'm not talking about Neuralink, just it would be great to use the degree of freedom of the current hardware for a more fluent and effective interaction.

Solution proposals:

Analog Precision Mode

Use the Y dimension of the mouse for the order of magnitude

StylusUX

Pressure sensitive & pen-optimized interface elements & tools

I don't think this would justify it's existence. the extra convenience is marginal at best, you would just unnecessarily complicate something that should be very simple. Blender is not your regular old piece of software. it's well known for its incredible feature density, high speed and small installation package. If they would just add every concievable feature that yould marginally make a convenience improvement, the software will become bloated. and we sure don't want that, under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES

Have you read the linked proposals? I mentioned there some software which are/were decades ahead of Blender regarding these input features. Have you ever tried Flame, 5D Cyborg, Fabric Engine or Houdini?
That's the problem, that Blender feels old in 2020 in terms of input, and with few lines of code - without bloating, as you've mentioned - these features would make the interaction more fluent/organic.
With your thinking we could remove the entire GUI step by step. Once upon a time the idea of ie manipulators - instead of textual coordinate input - was at least as unorthodox as this. I guess you are using more the keyboard than any other input devices, but belive me - I actually assume that you know - that there are quite a few Blender users who use pen for most of the time. Just think about Sculpt module. The current year is 2020, please wake up, or just simply leave such proposals without commenting it for the poor artists who want more organic relationship with Blender.
Additionally in the intro of the pressure sensitive stuff I mentioned that these features should have switches, so anybody could fully opt out.
Are you a back end Blender user or a UI/ergonomics specialist or a developer of it? Because your comment feels mostly irrelevant and not too professional, just a usual proposal trolling...

* @SciVfx * no, i'm not a dev i'm just an idiot with a lot of opinions that being said i agree i may have understated the importance of small interactibility details like this ... I personally mainly use Blender for procedural hard surface modelling ( mainly for 3d printing ) and I usually use the keyboard in most input fields anyway, because whenever I slide stuff with my mouse and it says a nice 2 digit number in the value box but when I click it I can see the floating-point gore it just messes with my OCD, man, so I shouldn't even care how the pressure sensitive pen inputs work and therefore it was a stupid comment in the first place
