Pre-build support for an older glibc

Full disclosure...

I am a CG Supervisor working at a small studio. I would LOVE to include blender in our set of tools.

Small to mid-size studios usually adhere to the supported OS and system requirements of the main software they use (Maya, Nuke, Max, etc). On linux, this means at most CentOS 7. CentOS 7 ships with glibc-2.17. This would then require a developer to build their own executable against glibc-2.17. While this might not be insanely time intensive, if the supported OS and pre-compiled blender builds continue to diverge, this task will only become more daunting. Small to mid-size studios are usually light on or devoid of developer resources.

The VFX reference platform is a good guide for what other VFX software developers are following. Is it possible to include a build that stays in step with this standard?

Lol. I would say one up for this. My studio is still stuck with centOS 6 . And the last blender version I can use is blender 2.78a.
