I can't use the Pose Mode / Object Mode shorctut to get out of Pose mode

When I have nothing selected: I can't use the Pose Mode / Object Mode shorctut to get out of Pose mode.

Probably related: the toggle of edit/object/pose mode is unintuitive to me, A toggle/cycle should always go through the same, predictable steps.

In this specific case, when in pose mode "no active object selected" is not helpful when I try to invoke the "go to object mode" pie menu.

Thanks! I think it's by design though. So not a feature, but a design discussion. In the meantime, I have solved my problem by not using the pie menu for it.
