RCS: Thumbnails everywhere.
"site looks boring without thumbnails" he said. Too boring to just read ideas, we need pictures... and Pablo was looking like he was about to add those thumbnails.
My personal biggest complain to those thumbnails how it was implemented before (and how it actually worked) - It was cool "rich" topics with thumbnails and all others "poor" without.
If you add any thumbnail ( even if it's jsut scaled uninformative screenshot ) you now cool, your suggestion attract more attention. If you just had some good idea, you describe it and there is no sense to add thumbnail - no one read it no one care.
So if we going to add those advertising signs back - let it be, OK... But I propose to add default thumbnails. They will be assigned based on first of chosen categories.
On my mockup it's just images from google search. Of course it has to be well designed images made by some experienced UI designer. Then good luck with advertising and shame on those whose custom thumbnails looks "poor" near defaults around....
... and if we going to make this place looks like Las Vegas casino district - feel welcome to check also my proposal about color ranking if u still didn't.

No no no - your suggeted "icons back". I suggest IF IT WILL GO BACK - make also default thumbnails to assign them based on category. To make them looking really good, maybe even animated GIF, to remove this "advertising signs" case that was exist before...
To remove this case of "voting without reading" just because this topic has thumbnails and ignoring other topic because it has not!!! (screen of my reply to your comment under your suggetion)
I stay here from 2018, I saw how it work when topics without thumbnails was treated like a junk by default if it wasn't something genius and amazing.
My topic are duplicate of yours as if white are duplicate of black...
