Bisect tool needs snapping

Basically the same thing you can find in 3ds max with the "quick slice tool" in the editpoly modifier. Bisect tool is clean and super responsive but it has its limitations if you need a precise cut, I know the knife tool has snapping but it only works on the active object and its snapping is clumsy. The snapping should work with any object in the scene and not just the one you are editing.

here an example as how it works in 3ds max

Take this. I wait for this snapping from the first day I opened Blender...

A picture is worth a thousand words. A video/gif is priceless. Your proposal would be stronger if you showed what you mean. Most people probably don't have 3DS Max installed to see what you're describing.

* @Chris Kohl * I agree, I really tried to find an example in the 3dsmax docs but surprise! autodesk documentation sucks, I'll try to do it myself....

Knife has snapping))

EzyPoly

* @damian winnichenko *.. but only to current object verticles, and cut line must interselect cutting polygons. And it doesn't work only on selection...

* @impacman * And because of this mindless " knife has snapping " - such necessary suggestion will get much less ( as always ) votes than others...

PS. Knife can work on selection PSS While waiting for snapping - check Snap Bisect addon( if u still not ). It still snap only inside own object mesh, but with some workarounds - very useful tool.

It does work indeed, but the addon needs auxiliary vertices to produce this kind of cut, this means additional clicks
