Ghost of hidden objects.
Add an Overlay that allows you to see hidden objects with slight opacity, and an option to even select them.
In this way, the visibility of objects or hidden mesh could be better managed.

Perhaps as an extra option in the Properties/Visibility....
I'm Imagining a little ghost logo already in the Outliner. It would be nice to change the opacity yourself too. maybe a settings right click shortcut or long key press.
