Object Mode :: "Deselect Object" Function and a Key Mapping for It.

I would like to see a function implemented to deselect objects in Object mode.
I would also like a Key mapping assigned to this function.
Currently there is only a way to deselect the active object.

I noticed that 「Alt+LMB」&「Shift+Alt+LMB」 do the same thing. Maybe one of these choices would be ideal. This could then still be optionally used with Ctrl to "select by origins".

Currently they only way I know how to deselect is to use Shift+LMB. This is usually 2 steps though. The first time you do it sets the object as the active object. Then when you Shift+LMB on the active object it gets deselected.
This is also a problem because performing Shift+LMB actions too quickly will select more object through the top object rather than deselecting. (I like this feature though and don't want to lose it)
Also, Alt is fairly commonly used to perform opposite actions. So it makes sense to me to use Alt is the keymapping to do the opposite of "select object".

* @-L0Lock- * Not all objects. One at a time.
If I have 15 objects selected. What is the fastest way to deselect 4 of those objects?

* @LilacDogoo * If you Ctrl+LMB click and drag you can deselect only the object(s) you drag on. You can also use Shift+LMB click, but this needs 2 clicks so it's not very intuitive, the first click is to set the object as active and the second click will deselect it.

Have you tried Subtract existing selection from Selecting Modes?

I'm surprised this isn't added already. It's really odd that if I try and deselect an object that has another object behind it - it will instead just add the object behind to the selection instead of just removing it. This requires you to have to move the camera to get an angle on an object just so it has nothing else in the background. If you are building an interior set this is impossible without first hiding other items which is highly inefficient. This seems like basic viewport / scene management functionality that is missing.
