Drop-down Search by Letter

for example, going to add a modifier, I get a drop down menu. the menu has like 30 options. It would be nice to be able to press a letter repeatedly and have it shuffle through all of the options that begin with that letter. Currently, it just selects an option that begins with that letter, but it selects it automatically and doesn't shuffle through all the options that begin with that letter.

for example, on add modifier tab, if i click the tab, then click "D", looking for the decimate modifier, it automatically selects "DataTranser", so the concept is already there, it's just not very functional when there's multiple options that begin with the same letter.
