Simultaneous sculpting and vertex painting
Hi,
I'd love to be able to sculpt and vertex-paint at the same time, as is possible in ZBrush. It would speed up workflow as opposed to first sculpting and then separately trying to paint exactly across the sculpted shapes.
It would be particularly effective in Dyntopo mode.
The way it should work is similar to sculpting and painting in ZBrush. That also works when using Sculptris Pro mode for dynamic topology. Both sculpting and painting should use the same settings (brush size, falloff, pressure level, etcetera). It would probably require a special mode that unifies Sculpt Mode and Vertex Mode.
— Edit, February 2019: The add-on developer Pablo Dobarro turns out to have realized this concept . It hope it will reach a Blender Master build soon.

I need this functionality to be able to edit a terrain and assign attributes by vertex color that will read the geonodes to distribute and thus create smart brushes
Color vertex color + bumps map
If you're vertex painting with Dyntopo enabled, how should Blender choose what color to make the newly created vertices? An empty color? A mix?
Also, could you explain how users would paint and sculpt seamlessly in the same mode? Is it just a matter of choosing a painting brush or a sculpting one and Blender just figures it out? Or is there some other interface feature needed?
* @Jason van Gumster * Good points, I'll add some text in my original post.
I do have this need to sculpt acupuncture dolls where meridians are black furrows on wax for instance.
