Unreal 5 render engine

Make a deal with Epic to include Unreal 5 render technology in Blender! When you look at the Unreal 5 demo, it makes the VFX world look like we are using a wheelbarrow with a square wheel while the gaming industry is using a Lambo. Now the VFX world will have to play catch up. Let Blender be the first 3D app to reach that level.

I don't think it's much relevant. You make geometry, when you press render, it send that geo to the rendering engine. Unreal is also open source BYW. :-)

The licenses that Blender uses basically infect anything that touches the open source code. Also, businesses generally don't have as clean code as open source projects like blender, so on top of incompatibilities with blender's mesh and data handling, it would make it harder for new people to write code and addons for. That said, I do think that blender will mimic this render engine in the coming years.

Untold

I am not sure that's really doable, Blender is a software for editing meshes, Unreal only has to display them (unless you change them via code), and since the way the UE5 tech works deals with autonomous mesh optimization in real-time, it would either lock mesh editing or make Blender laggy as hell. At least that's what I guess would happen, maybe someone knows it better?
