Right Click Menu As An Option

A lot of different small menus are all scattered into multiple hotkeys all over the place .. This is not speed efficient and is a waste of hokey

All needed is a custom menu with adapted option for the object selected. Using the right click to show it, but may use other hotkey for right click purist out there.. this Kind of adaptive menu is fast and efficient

And the developpement of this is not all that complex .

Let be honest here, the 3D cursor could be set as an hotkey for user wanting a right click menu

Every softs , every operating system use this feature and it's not for no reasons, it's because it's fast and it's efficient.

I think that it's time to give up this "rebellious spirit" and just, give us a possibility to toggle it... That's all we want, a possibility, an option

Then everyone on both side will be happy No more new users frustration then a big jump of blender popularity will occur

Thanks

I've been using the rRMB addon for years now. It gives a right click menu. Which also includes the ability to change origin to selection. Best addon ever.

Yes, it would be good to give more importance to the industry standard keymap, because new students would learn a way of interaction that could be used in other software such as game engines or other 3d tools. But unfortunately it will not be Blender's default, so students will have to learn the peculiar Blender way and the standard for when they use other tools.

I have been wanting to build menus for this type of workflow for the Bforartists fork, but still not sure how to tackle it. A lot of the UI has two mouse buttons for every day use - and putting in UI context on mouseover before you click is really tricky without alterting the inner working of Blender. I will see how 2.8 handles thigns, maybe the whole "hold down" option for the pie menus they were adding will add an extra ability to add extra functionality without altering too much of the inner workings.

Yeah, this is how I configure my blender to work, and yes it's a hassle to make it work right. But this is supposed to come with the upcoming new industry standard keymap:
