Shadow Projector

An inverse light. Pretty much that. A light source that projects a shadow intensity, color etc all the same as a light source would have only it would create a shadow. Same shapes etc as well. This of course would bleed together with any light source as well. Instead of giving off light, it absorbs light. Allowing you to make shadows darker in specific spots if you wish or to take the light out of an area completely in a sorta natural blending way. Yes, there is such thing as editing afterward but this could offer far more flexibility than what you get afterward and could open a world of weird possibilities.

Mr.Chairman

You can already do something like this by giving a light a negative power value.

* @Mr. Chairman * I tried that but it does not seem to give strong results if any sometimes. This property exists in other software out there but seemed to be more effective than Blender. So I thought Blender did not have it. Either way, a Void light would still be handy make a more versatile powerful version of this.

* @crop.circles.studio *increase strength or tune shader or select another type of lamp. What is void light?

* @ Vyacheslav * The name I gave the above. lol. Yeah what you speak of works in some cases if not most but sometimes stupid shit happens. Still not sure if you can choose the color of the shadow though. I need to test that out. Void lights though if done right you could do more than just what a typical light would do what about a void mesh light. It allows custom shaped shadows. Using Mesh Lighting shapes but instead creates a shadow in the shape of the mesh.

* @crop.circles.studio * Custom shape mesh shadow would be handier than you think from my simple explanation. There are times when you want a model to be darker shadow wise in some areas over others and nothing you do with lights work even light linking wouldn't work with half a model really or a tiny crevice that is bright for some unknown reason. You make a custom shape shadow (with all the settings of a light. Even soften the edges as an option.) to darken that one spot and now you are not annoyed by 10pxs in a render or an animation. We are all this picky you may say we aren't but we are.

color of the shadow

it depends on color of additional light. Also it can be tricked with shader. So it looks like you know Cycles not deep enough. A lot of tricks possible.

* @ Vyacheslav * What about the color burn black issue on metal. I am having that currently. No matter the angle of the negative light if you will the black on it is in such a way it is an abyss with some weird color burning looking artifacts on it.
