Shader Editor - second "mode" to view all nodes using viewer (at one time)
Was thinking that it might not be that difficult, and would be very helpful if the shader node editor had a toggle at the top that switched between "editing" and "node output" modes. The editing is just the standard (like current), where you can edit all the details of the node, whereas when you jump into "node output" mode, you see the result of each node's effect (just like when you currently Ctrl+Shift+Click to pull up viewer for that node). Thus, instead of just 1 viewer at a time, when switching to "node output" mode, each node panel shows visual result of that node in the node panel (and all node info/options are hidden away until you switch back to editing mode).
I don't know much about substance designer, but from what I've seen, it shows the results of each node's influence in the node tree which I think can be very helpful.
