Parent and children travel together
In the outliner, when objects get parented, they will collapse into 1 item, but if I move the item to another collection, only the parent moves and none of the children do. Can it be made that if we move the item, that all the children go with it in the outliner? I have objects that would have several objects parented to it and I would prefer that I don't have to sift through hundreds of items to find all the children to move with them. I can imagine this being especially annoying if you forget to name your objects.

Have you tried Right Click -> Select Hierarchy before moving?
* @ammusionist * this does not work....{attachment move_outlinerpng} Need to add a move inside collection along with the hierarchy while holding down the Alt key

I'd be inclined to report this as a bug rather than a feature request.
atm I can suggest addon Quick Instance. It`s grouping to instance and allows to switch inside instance group
