Reconsider replacing the Pose library in the current state

The Asset browser is still not ready to replace the Pose Library for the following reasons:

  1. You can’t activate poses without entering pose mode. This is especially annoying when fixing weight paints.

  2. You have to right click delete every single pose you want to delete.

  3. You cannot reorder your poses period.

  4. The lack of list view make large amount of poses really annoying to work with especially for those without a second screen.

  5. The default behavior of adding all bones to pose when non is selected is gone.

  6. You cannot simply update a pose. If you wish to do so you have to create a new one delete the old one clear orphans before you can rename the new one back to the old name.

Please reconsider replacing the Pose library the Asset browser is not ready to fully replace it.

4 - this one feels like more like unintended functionality but you can switch to list view by using Ctrl + Mouse Scroll Wheel on thumbnail selector in asset browser:

Thank you for that. I do hope there is an way to adjust the column size though and also add this to the toolbar Pose Library since categories don't work there and everything is lumped into one giant mess.

I completely agree! The new workflow is so bureaucratic, I don't say that's useless, but. I understand when Yen Ko say that's don't replace the old one, both of them should perfectly have your place on an animation workflow.

We definitely need the old pose library back. There is no button to override an existing pose asset. As far as I know, the only option is to create a new pose asset, which is very inconvenient.

Painfully true, to this day. Not a fan of the new system. Can't believe you can't just update a pose without doing a bunch of things when it was a so efficient before.

Sorry for bumping, but I have to add my voice to this as well. The new pose library is so bad and unusable that I reverted back to the old blender version. Even if all the issues with it were fixed, the new pose library just takes up a huge portion of my screen every time i want to use it. I don't have multiple monitors and even if I did, I like the compact design more than whatever this is.

It's a HUGE inconvenience and it's really irritating if all I want is to move a couple of bones on my character. Not only it's horribly designed, It's lacking basic functionality too.

I'd like the old legacy pose browser back. As an optional plugin, if nothing else.

Agreed, especially 6th point is the one that annoys me the most. Sure you can still update them, but it requires way too many steps for something that used to be a single button.

2 - In Outliner: mode "Blender file" (menu in top-left of outliner), all your poses are Actions, and appear as a list here. You can shift-select or ctrl-select to select several, and then right-click delete several as a group.

3 - current ordering is based on string-name alphabetic sorting, so clever use names will let you set order.

6 - Armature in PoseMode. AssetBrowser: select pose, in N-panel (right side) click button [Assign Action]. In ActionEditor, that last button will link in the pose/action; re-pose, re-insert keyframe (i) on the ONE keyframe in a pose-action. When you are done editing that pose, click [X] in the ActionEditor to unlink the pose so you can go edit other poses.

Still though these are more like band aids it doesn't fix the fact the asset browser is just not as powerful as the old pose editor. These methods of operation are unintuitive and terribly documented.
