Copy and paste geometry
This is one of my favorite features in modo. You can select geometry in edit mode, copy it with ctrl c, edit some other mesh object (or the same one) and ctrl v there to paste the geometry. It would be nice to have this in blender, because right now you have to shift d to duplicate, P to separate and ctrl J to join the meshes. It would also make blender more consistent.
I realize this actually screws up with the current keymaps of ctrl E for edge menu, ctrl F for face menu and ctrl V for vertex menu. I don't have a solution for this, but I think ctrl V for vertex menu is a bad design decision in the first place so the menu keymaps should be changed anyway.

I totally agree. I'd go so far as to not even worry about a hotkey, just implement the ability to copy/paste meshes, and let the user access it however they want. That way we don't spend half the time arguing about hotkeys (such a popular thing to do).
