The Measure tool should be an Object!
the measure tool should be an object with two ends(empties) that can be used to parent..etc with other objects, this would be useful for many scenarios than the current state where you have to be in the active tool to use it or even see it.
i vote to put this as a new preset in the empties menu........thank you.

Use the Plugin "Measurelt" works perfectly.
